I am also a pen and notebook user even if i have my laptop with me all the time. When i travel i would be seen at the airports and terminals writing using my pen and notebook. I like the feel of having to hold a pen and the smell of the paper.

I consider myself the tecnie guy. Got the ipaq years ago when it was first luanch in Malaysia, followed with a number of other PDA. Still I use a 555 book adn a pen that I can tuck in my pocket. Hey I don't mind if I miss place these two items, provided that I have done organizing the notes in my laptop or PDA. The point is PDA or a little notepad, they are in our lives and indispensable, what do you think?

It's funny but I've gone so long without actually writing anything out that I can't even read my own writing anymore. It looks like chicken scratch. I used to have such pretty handwriting too. *sigh*

Can't do away with pen and paper too. Thoughts flow easier when scribbled down on a piece of paper rather than clacking the keyboard.

You know I've tried Outlook, made my own soft-organizer on my laptop, then the PDA, still writing my list and ideas on a notebook is unmatched in terms of convenience, accessibility, and usefulness. Prolly my own preference, as they say, "to each his own."

Like you guys, I can better organize my affairs and activities by writing them. In fact, I have 2 boxes full of old notebooks, bunch of papers, candy & cake wrappers, dog-eared pages from newspapers & magazines where I have written my thoughts and lectures. I am always refreshed reading through these 'junks' -actually they are no junks at all -I treasure them.

I admit that even though I am very "digital" when it comes to most things in my life, for some things, I still prefer the notebook and paper--mostly for taking notes.

I don't mind organizing notes for the long term eventually on the computer in a digital filing system, but for some reason it's much easier for me to brainstorm, take initial notes, make to-do lists, and budget with the traditional pen and paper.

In fact, I planned on getting more organized with my blogging and I had two options: use a free program called NoteCase that I use to store and organize notes for other things, or just buy an old-fashioned binder with dividers. I went with the binder because I know there is going to be a lot of brainstorming, note-taking, and to-do lists involved.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to replace these basic tool...

Yeah, it's pretty hard to replace these basic tools. They are everywhere, noone will object if you borrow a pen from them (they will not let you use their PDA, i'm pretty sure ;) and you can fold paper and put it in your pocket.

I think pretty well while typing and noticed a few years ago during a test writing an essay, I haven't used pen & paper like that for awhile.

I use a Composition book in Seminars since it's handy, quiet and I can better embed the notes on a cellular level.

Lots of good reasons for pen & paper still. I don't think we will get rid of them just yet...
